Dr. Krisha M. Coppedge, D.M., became the Founder and President of KMC EMPOWERING EDUCATIONAL CORPORATION, INC. (KMC-EEC), a Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation on May 8, 2013. The needs of people inspired her to give back to society with a heart full of love to those individuals seeking to change their lives educationally and to those teenagers who aspire to do better in their academic studies to move on to a prosperous life, as positive contributing citizens of Philadelphia.

Dr. Coppedge felt there was a dire need for teaching, mentoring, and tutoring in the community. Suddenly, one day she met a woman with tears in her eyes who said that the children she takes care of desperately needed someone to help them with their school work. She was also moved by two adults desiring to pursue their GED® diplomas. One individual wanted to start her own hair salon and the other wanted to become a chef. They both realized that in order for their dreams to come to fruition, they needed to work towards their GED® and asked Dr. Coppedge to help them to start the first step towards their educational goals.

Dr. Coppedge was moved by this cry out for help and decided to not pursue employment in a university setting, but to start her own educational corporation to help change the lives of those underserved and underprivileged in education and employment.

Additionally, Dr. Coppedge is the author of nine articles, and recently became an award-winning author of the article “Illusive Victimizations of a Homeowner in Mortgage Foreclosure” (2011), published in the Society and Business Review Journal. She was chosen as an Outstanding Paper Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2012. Dr. Coppedge’s paper was selected as one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2011. She was the keynote speaker at the 2nd Annual Quantum Storytelling Conference in Las Cruces, New Mexico, in December of 2012.

Dr. Coppedge has held many positions. Presently, she is also the CEO of Coppedge Real Estate, a privately owned real estate company in existence for 30 years. After receiving her Executive Master of Business Administration Degree in 2007, she has been creative in providing homes for less privileged individuals who most realtors in the surrounding area of her family owned business would probably never accept as tenants. These people are classified as poverty stricken and limited income individuals, including veterans, who are incidentally given priority placement. Sometimes these citizens can afford rents and sometimes they cannot; however way it turns out for the month, the passion she and her husband have for these unfortunate individuals is not to dismiss them, but to help them to comprehend the importance of accountability and responsibility in this highly commercial society. As a property owner her passion and love is to help the unfortunate and the disadvantaged citizens. Her career advice is: One only becomes knowledgeable through the wisdom of education and learning by practicality.

Dr. Coppedge brings many years of quality experience in administration and management in business, education, industry, and community. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude; and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University. She is an active member of multiple associations, most notably as the External Affairs/Communications Chairperson for the Management Faculty of Color Association (MFCA). She currently continues to be praised for her innovative thinking in problem solving, and crisis management. Coppedge is on a mission to help others to become inspired through education and learning by the magic of thinking BIG!
